Effects of CO2 laser pulse intensity on the Infrared multiphoton decomposition of CH3NH2 in a supersonic expansion

Abstract

The dependence of CO2 laser pulse intensity on IRMPD of methylamine in a supersonic, expansion has been studied by observing laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) from the NH2-fres radical fragment. The probe laser was a Nd:YAG-pumped dye operating primarily with kiton red. Figure 1 shows a typical spectrum of nascent NH2 fragments measured ~100 ns after the CO2 laser pulse. The rotational assignments in Fig. 1 are from previous work.1
