Abstract

There has been considerable interest in using the laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) technique for sensitive detection and the detection of transient species in a combustion environment.1-3 Dimethylnitramine (DMNA) is a model compound for more complex nitramines, and a basic understanding of the chemistry of its decomposition is required to model successfully nitramine combustion. This paper provides an account of our studies on the excimer laser photolysis of DMNA with regard to identification and collisional dynamics of the fragments generated.
