Development of a chemical sensor using evanescent field interaction based fiber loop ring-down Spectroscopy

Abstract

A new chemical sensor based on fiber loop ring-down spectroscopy is presented. Side polished fiber is fabricated and implemented in the loop for evanescent field interaction with chemical. Detection sensitivity of 6.7×10−6 sec/RIU is observed.
