Gain Contouring in Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers Using Photonic Switching

Abstract

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing channel of an Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier requires a flat gain spectrum across the whole usable bandwidth. An EDFA with a flattened gain spectrum has configured using wavelength selective photonic switching technique to improve the performance of DWDM systems.
