Athermalized Gain-Flattened Erbium Doped Photonic Crystal Fiber Amplifiers

Abstract

An erbium-doped photonic crystal fiber amplifier is designed to achieve low splice loss, athermal gain flattened spectrum with ±0.58dB ripples over 27.5 nm using conventional and phase-shifted long period gratings in the fiber core.
