Abstract

Here we report a LP01-LP11mode converter based on long-period fiber grating (LPFG) in a conventional two-mode fiber (TMF) operating at 1μm. The mode converter was fabricated with point-by-point technique using a CO2 laser. The measured bandwidth of the mode converter was >290 nm and the maximum conversion efficiency is higher than 99%.
