Abstract

Pump-probe measurements on InGaAsP bulk and MQW optical amplifiers have revealed ultrafast dynamics not yet fully understood [1, 2]. In this paper we present experimental and theoretical results which indicate that the dynamics is due to the combined effect of spectral holeburning (SHB), carrier heating (CH), and two-photon absorption (TPA).
