Abstract
In a dispersive medium, Cherenkov radiation (CR) takes on one of two qualitative forms, depending on whether v > c0(superluminal) or v < c0 (subluminal), where v is the velocity of the source and c0 = c/n0 is the index of refraction in the medium at low frequencies.1
