Abstract

Considerable attention has been paid to the compression of the laser pulse and the divergence angle of the laser beam by SBS and SRS compared with those of the pumping beam. A reduction of 3-5 has been obtained for SRS.1,2 Results where the divergence angle of the SBS beam is similar to that of the pumping beam has been reported.3 The theoretical basis for SBS has also been present ed.4
