Abstract

An optical matrix switch is one of the most important components in constructing photonic switching systems. Previously, several strictly non-blocking matrix switches fabricated on Ti:LiNbO3 have been reported[1]-[3]. However, drive voltages of less than 10 V have not been obtained in a matrix larger than 4X4 for 1.3 um wavelength. In this paper, we overcame this problem by a new configuration for the waveguide network.
