Drive voltage reduced, low crosstalk Ti:LiNbO3 digital optical switches

Abstract

Reduction of the switch voltage on low loss Ti:LiNbO3-based digital optical switches with low crosstalk is presented. For any applied switch voltage higher than 9 volts, crosstalk suppression better than 45 dB is reached using a shaped y-junction design and a dilated switch arrangement.
