Integrated optical receivers using MSM detectors

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The MSM detector's high speed, low capacitance, and FET compatability have resulted in many recent OEIC demonstrations. Some recent results along with tradeoffs in low noise preamplifier design will be discussed indicating that high speed, high sensitivity integrated receivers are possible with high wafer yield and low cost packaging potential.
