Phase Distribution for Squeezed States

Abstract

Since squeezed states have a very simple representation in coordinate space, one is led to calculate their phase distribution via forming the scalar product with the phase eigenstates represented in coordinate space <x | φ>, where x=212(a + a+) (a, a+ photon annihilation and creation operator, respectively). However, in the now widely accepted Pegg-Barnett formal ism[1] <x | φ> is a rather complicated function that actually can be dealt with only numerically.
