Abstract
The phase-space description of electromagnetic fields has had great success in leading to an understanding of the relationship between semiclassical and quantum theories of light, and the same is true for atomic states. The P function is generally singular fox nonclassical states.1,2 In such cases the Wigner two-level atoms have been a subject of much investigation.6,8 Using the general theory of multipole operators, Agarwal9 introduced the Wigner function for systems of arbitrary angular momentum.
