Abstract

Spectroscopic studies on triplet-state alkali metal excimers have been carried out in order to understand the characteristics of electron beam excitation of diffuse bands from second excited states. We report the ASE generation of the Na2 violet band, K2 yellow band and Rb2 orange band emissions by electron beam pumping. The electron beam supplied by a Febetron 706 installed with a velvet cathode was injected into an oven cell containing dense al-kali vapor. The emission from the high temperature cell was measured by a spectrum multichannel analyzer through a MgF2 window at the end of the cell.
