Abstract

The relaxation of free and localized excitons in CdTe quantum wells is investigated by pico-second photoluminescence and degenerate four-wave-mixing experiments at low lattice temperature. The samples are few-monolayers-thick, coherently strained single CdTe quantum wells grown by molecular-beam epitaxy between thick ZnTe or Cd0.85Zn0.15Te barrier layers
