Abstract
Nonlinear waveguiding properties of planar optical waveguides have been investigated by many researchers. Recently attention has focused on promising nonlinear multilayer configurations.1 Previous investigations reported the linear guiding properties of several multilayer structures, including the Bragg reflection waveguide.2 This paper presents the first analysis of the nonlinear waveguiding behavior of a Bragg-reflector structure fabricated in semiconductor material.
