Abstract
Nonlinear waveguiding properties of planar optical waveguides have been investigated by many authors. Recently, attention has focused on promising nonlinear multilayer configurations.1 Previously, investigations were reported of the linear guiding properties of several multilayer structures, including the Bragg reflection waveguide.2 This paper presents, to the best of our knowledge, the first analysis of the nonlinear waveguiding behavior of a Bragg reflector structure fabricated in semiconductor material.
