Abstract

We investigate the dynamics of the transverse polarization patterns of the electromagnetic field in the lasers with arbitrary number of the transverse modes and with arbitrary cavity anisotropy. The model of the unidirectional ring laser with the active medium with homogeneously broadened gain line in axial magnetic field was used. The numerical scheme utilizes the step-splitting method and the decomposition of the laser field in terms of Laguerre-Gaussian modes in both polarizations [1]. We assumed that the polarization anisotropy of the nonplanar stigmatic cavity was due to the arbitrary image rotation, small amplitude anisotropy, and presence of the phase-retardation plates.
