Abstract
A major factor in the dynamical behavior of solid-state lasers with a weakly anisotropic cavity is a collective interaction of all longitudinal modes of one polarization with the total ensemble of modes of the orthogonal polarization. Our analysis of the dynamics of the polarization modes[1] demonstrates that along with the well-known in-phase relaxation oscillations of laser modes at frequency Ω0 the system possesses relaxation oscillations at lower frequencies Ω1, and Ω2<Ω1 which belong to the antiphase dynamics of polarization modes.
