Nonlinear frequency doubling mirrors as phase shifting elements

Abstract

Nonlinear frequency doubling mirror (NFDM) that consists crystal for second harmonic (SH) generation and mirror situated behind it (fig.1 - dashed squares) was investigated by us theoretically with respect to the phase and intensity of the reflected fundamental waves. NFDM with nonlinear (NL) crystal at exact phase matched condition was previously used as mode-locking device [1].
