Dispersion Tolerance of Octagonal Photonic Crystal Fibers

Abstract

This paper describes dispersion tolerance of an octagonal photonic crystal fiber (O-PCF) due to variations in the dimension of first ring’s air-hole diameter. It is demonstrated that an O-PCF can assume promising tolerance with ultra-flattened dispersion of 0 ± 0.69 ps/(nm-km) in a 1.31 to 1.70 µm wavelength range.
