Abstract
An alexandrite laser is a high-power tunable solid-state laser making it suitable for a variety of uses. We developed a 100-W average output oscillator with a ¼-in, diam 4-in. long alexandrite rod. The fine tunability of the laser, as well as its usefulness as a drill and a marker, was tested.
