Abstract

Recently, alexandrite lasers have allowed efficient Q-switched tunable operation [1]. However, alexandrite laser gain being low it seems difficult to use an amplifier scheme; consequently the injection-locking technique offers great advantages. A simple setup using a frequency selection with a low peak power alexandrite master oscillator and extraction of the energy from an alexandrite slave ring laser will, therefore, be discussed.
