Abstract
Tailoring of photorefractive crystals for various applications requires detailed knowledge of the light-induced charge transport. In the first part of this contribution different transport situations are described and models are developed, among them the one-center, the two-center and the three-valence model. The second part deals with experimental results of several frequently used photorefractive crystals.
