Abstract

In this paper we discuss a phenomenological approach to description of the photorefractive properties of polymers. This approach is based on well-established macroscopic relations and characteristics known from experiments. A general relation for the steady state photorefractive response in polymers is derived. This relation can be used for comparison with experiment and for theoretical predictions.
