By superimposing three types of silicon meta-atom arrays on a quartz substrate, the authors have implemented the functionalities of all necessary passive components of a Stokes vector receiver, including a 1x3 splitter, three polarization beam splitters, and six lenses, within a single thin device. This approach provides a cost-effective solution for receiving high-speed self-coherent signals with a compact module. See Soma et al., pp. 604–611.See print version of the cover.
