Abstract
We present an erratum to our publication [Opt. Express 30(5), 8174 (2022) [CrossRef] ] correcting a numerical value without affecting the results and conclusions of the original publication.

1. Erratum
There was an error on page 8183 [1] while transcribing the numerical value of the compression factor achieved for a complex scene. This compression factor defined as $(Q\times W + R\times C)/(R \times C \times W)$, for $R=C=400$, $W=110$ and $Q=1138$ is equal to $\simeq 62$ and not $\simeq 6.2$. This does not affect the results and conclusions of the original publication.
