Abstract
This paper discusses the main components of a technique for creating lidar with ultraspectral resolution (λ/Δλ⩾1000), developed at the Institute of Laser Physics, S. I. Vavilov State Optical Institute Scientific Production Corp. Special attention is paid to the possibility of multipurpose use of spontaneous Raman scattering for aerial search for and synchronous detection of a wide array of chemical substances and compounds with laser probing of the earth's biosphere at one wavelength. The technical characteristics of the functional subsystems and the results of flight tests of the lidar are presented.
