Abstract
We report on the formation of color centers in a lead glass fiber through two-photon absorption of a laser at 532 nm. The color centers can subsequently be photobleached by a weaker laser at 633 nm. A possible defect site in the glass is discussed as a microscopic origin for the absorption.
