Abstract

We describe detailed studies of the degenerate and nearly degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM and NDFWM, respectively) response in Cr:YAlO3 of importance to optical phase conjugation. We report on measurements of the DFWM response as a function of pump intensity and wavelength. We also report on measurements of the temporal response of the material and compare the results with the NDFWM response. Finally, we present an analysis of the NDFWM spectral response in the presence of strong pumps.
