Abstract

We report the enhancement of two-photon-absorption-induced luminescence of a polymer film when a guided mode of the film is excited at the pump frequency, with a diffraction grating as optical coupler. The results show the double excitation of a guided mode at the pump frequency and of other guided modes at the luminescence broadband frequency. We also present experimental results of second-harmonic generation with such a device in which the effects of both absorption and diffraction are observed.
