Abstract

Dispersion relations for a normal-incidence magneto-optical polar Kerr effect, which connect Kerr rotation and Kerr ellipticity, are demonstrated. A numerical iterative method for extrapolation of Kerr parameters to a wider spectral range is developed and tested on a Lorentz model and experimental data (iron–silver multilayer spectra).
