Abstract

In this article, a novel numerical model for inter-core crosstalk (ICXT) estimation in weakly coupled multicore-fiber-based (WC-MCF-based) WDM system with stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) effect is derived initially based on the coupled-power theory. Moreover, a modified coupled-power equations (MCPEs) with SRS and stochastic perturbations is obtained by using perturbation theory. Then, a matrix method for computer programming is introduced to solve this MCPEs. Numerical simulations are carried out in a WC-MCF-based WDM system with 220 channels across C+L bands. The simulation results show that SRS can not only affect the characteristic of ICXT but also change the ICXT accumulation rate along transmission distance and make the ICXT tilt smaller.
