China's largest manufacturer of fiber optic patch cords, the China Fiber Optic Network System Group (China Fiber Optic) recently secured a tender from Zhejiang Wasu Broadcasting Network Company and Wasu Media Network Company to create three products for them over a two year period. The tender includes the creation of fiber optic patch cord and two different types of equipment room accessories.
This tender is an important step for China Fiber Optic as it symbolizes a breakthrough for the company in penetrating the Zhejiang province, the Today IR website notes. The tender means that China Fiber Optic will be able to increase the customer base of broadcasting network companies in the region.
The breakthrough also lends itself to the Chinese government's ploy for "Three Network Convergence"—that is, the convergence of telecommunications networks, television broadcasting networks and broadband communications networks. China Fiber Optic is looking to contribute significantly to the "Three Network Convergence" project, which looks to improve the functionality of the above mentioned networks via technology upgrades. The project also incorporates digital television broadcasting networks and next generation internet technology.
Zhao Bing, the chairman and executive director for China Fiber Optic, said in a statement: "[China Fiber Optic] is honored about the securing of the tender as obtaining the qualification tender represents the recognition of the strong competitiveness of China Fiber Optic. Moreover, the [company] is committed to explore markets in other provinces in China. It is expected that the penetration of the Zhejiang market will turn a new page for China Fiber Optic."
He continued to note that the company plans to continue to expand its effort to increase its broadcast consumer base.
