Wave Optics Simulation Studies of the Fried Parameter for Weak to Strong Atmospheric Turbulent Fluctuations

Abstract

Wave optics simulations are conducted for modeling the long exposure point spread function through atmospheric turbulence. The results indicate that analytic expressions for the Fried parameter are accurate even in the strong turbulence fluctuation regime.
