Smooth dispersion compensation over one octave: novel chirped mirrors with suppressed dispersion oscillations

Abstract

We present a novel design approach for chirped mirror dispersion compensation, suitable for octave-filling spectra with strongly reduced dispersion oscillations. We present measurements on a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser and explore the limits using full amplitude and phase characterization of our ultrabroadband pulses.
