Abstract

Digital signal processing has enabled the generation and detection of orthogonal-frequency-division-multiplexing based superchannels that advantageously leverage parallelism to achieve high data-rate, high spectral-efficiency, and potentially low cost-per-bit. This paper reviews recent advances in this field.
