Abstract

It is shown that nondegenerate photorefractive (PR) two-beam coupling with applied D.C. electric field displays Stark-like effect with gain splitting, broadening and shifting as a function of the frequency difference between the two beams. With optical and electronic feedback optical bistability, instabilities and photorefractive self electro-optic effect device (PR-SEED) are obtained.
