Ultrafast All-optical Switching and Computing with Organic Molecules and Silicon Microring Resonators

Abstract

We present our recent work on ultrafast all-optical switching to design Boolean, reversible and reconfigurable computing circuits with bacteriorhodopsin protein, cytochrome-c, copper-phthalocyanine and graphene-oxide thin films, and protein-coated ultra-high-Q silica microspheres and silicon microring resonators.
