Dynamic instabilities in the mutually pumped ‘bird-wing’ phase conjugator

Abstract

Recently a novel class of phase conjugator, the Mutually Pumped Phase Conjugator (MPCC), has been demonstrated in which two simultaneous phase conjugate (PC) reflections are generated by the interaction of two mutually incoherent beams within a crystal of BaTiO3[1, 2, 3]. Currently there are three classes of MPCC distinguished by the number of total internal reflections within the crystal, two, one or none, as shown in fig.1.
