Extension of Ion Beam Sputtered Oxide Mixtures into the UV Spectral Range

Abstract

Ion-beam co-sputtered films with different ratios of silica indicate a transparency extended into the near ultra-violet range. Some coating examples demonstrate the extension to wavelength ranges which are normally not accessible by applying the materials.
