MIMO Coding Technique for PDL and Crosstalk Mitigation in Optical Transmission Systems

Abstract

We propose new coding technique, called IQ-code, to mitigate PDL and inter-channel crosstalk on optical fiber transmission. We obtain 0.3-0.5 dB OSNR gain at FEC limit for any number of sub-carrier by simple ZF decoding.
