Optical Beam Steering using Mode-Coupling Control in Plastic Optical Fibre

Abstract

An all-fibre beam steering solution, based on mode coupling in 240-µm core size POF, is presented. Using DMT modulation over 90-cm wireless link and steering full angle of 9°, a throughput of 1.6 Gbps is achieved for visible light.
