A Novel Frequency-Modulation (FM) Demodulator for Microwave Photonic Links based on Polarization-Maintaining Fiber Bragg Grating

Abstract

A novel scheme for demodulating frequency-modulated optical signals is proposed. It uses polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating (PM-FBG) as a frequency discriminator. The basic principle and preliminary results of linearity and demodulation are presented.
