Amplitude Jitter Due to Stimulated Raman Scattering Among Channels of a Wavelength Division Multiplexed System

Abstract

We calculate the amplitude jitter created by stimulated Raman scattering between signal channels of a wavelength division multiplexed system, accounting for group velocity dispersion. Populating C- and L-bands leads to a 4dB drop in Q vs. populating the C-band alone.
