Abstract

The traffic-grooming problem multiplexes smaller-rate traffic streams into higher-rate streams using the smallest number of SONET Add-Drop Multiplexers (S-ADMs). By unifying and extending previous work, two new approaches single-hop and multihop are introduced and evaluated.
