Reconfiguration in IP Over WDM Access Networks

Abstract

This paper examines a high-speed IP over WDM access network. The performance benefits of dynamically allocating wavelengths to access routers are examined and compared with static wavelength allocation. It is shown that dynamic reconfiguration can significantly improve network performance.
