Abstract

There have been a variety of proposals for broadband customer access using passive optical networks (PONs), e.g., Refs. 1 and 2. Previous network demonstrations have exploited time, 1 wavelength,12 or RF sub- carriers2 to multiplex data onto a single optical fiber.
