Abstract
We present a novel routing device for optically time-division-multiplexed networks. The entire routing process, including gating pulse generation and synchronization, is carried out in the optical domain. The device uses the ultrafast nonlinearity of silica fiber, and so it is capable of operation at 100 Gbit/s and beyond.
